Welcome to No Nonsense Productions

No Nonsense Productions was founded in 2008 with the aim of bringing lesser known pieces of musical theatre to audiences in the west coast of Scotland.

Initial productions included ‘The Last Five Years’ (2008), ‘Rent’ (2009) and ‘Spring Awakening’ (2010). As well as performing musicals No Nonsense created and performed original, themed cabarets, established a show choir and performed site specific monologues.

In more recent years No Nonsense has been incorporated as a Community Interest Company. This allows for the casting of community performers alongside professional actors.

No Nonsense has diversified in to producing comedy sketches and plays such as ‘Fawlty Towers’ which has been performed in numerous hotels and restaurants.

For the past seven years No Nonsense have been producing radio plays on stage such as ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’, ‘Dracula’, ‘Para Handy’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’. ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ has developed from two performances on the last day of The Greenock Arts Guild to touring throughout Scotland, playing venues such as Glasgow’s Òran Mór, The Scottish Storytelling Centre and Dumfries Theatre Royal.

Two productions of ‘Para Handy’ have been performed in the radio play format in The Beacon Arts Centre’s bistro and function suites, in social clubs and a pub. In August 2018 ‘Para Handy; A Radio Play on Stage’ will be performed at the Edinburgh Fringe.
